ps1 screen voltage question

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

ps1 screen voltage question

can the ps1 screen run off of 7.2v? if not can it handle 8.4v?
I'm a noob....and lazy....i like to do things the simple way.

mine works better on 8.4v, i don't know why, i guess it's a defective screen or something

Yes, but at that point, you're probably better off going up to a higher voltage and regulating/DC-DC converting it down to 7.5v or 8v. As G-force said, there will probably be some distortion if you just leave it.
