56-pin connector?

Post by usbcd36 »

I'm looking for some sort of 56-pin connector for an external cartridge slot, but I can't seem to find anything. A centronics connector or something similar to the ATA/SCSI connectors for a hard drive would work (though in the case of an ATA or SCSI connector, I'd need 58 pins so that it could only be inserted one way).

Why 54 pins? You need a 60 pin for a famiclone. 72 pin for NES carts. I'm sure you have a reason, I just don't get it.

Yeah, the pinout for an NOAC from a Super 8/Tristar 64 appears to only need 57 pins, and two of those are +5v. All the rest are unconnected. (See http://doomportables.gptheatre.co.uk/im ... onchip.gif) I guess a 60-pin might be better because I'd have enough connections for a player 2 port on it too, I just might not have room for the connector…

Edit: recounted and it needs 56 pins.

she is a she niku sama, and that would be my guess, the cart slot thing, i know you can get "card edge connectors" of various sizes here but they dont have a 54 or 56 pin connector, only 50, 60 etc

No, I AM A HE. Also, I am not looking for a card-edge connector, I want a very compact connector that I can connect an external cartridge slot to. If there is such thing as a DB-60, or a 60-pin centronics connector, that would be good, I just don't want a huge connector. Also, I would remake a few carts in small size with that connector so the most-played ones would not require much space, so it can't be extremely expensive.

Yeah, I had another one the day I tried to get RGB from my N64, but I added Gender: Male to my profile, so it won't happen again.
