Ok, this is the plan

anyone who is willing to do this please take photos of it and post the pictures, of every process, you don't have to hike with it or anything but you must eat it and photograph everything, the box the packaging the inside of the edible item all the zipper compartments stuuff like that so maybe other people will try it

Uhh, I dunno about you, but I'm not interested in eating a sweaty, muddy sleeping bag (or any sleeping bag for that matter, they aren't cheap) after I've slept in it. I mean, those things are gross, even after a 2 night outing. And eating the MATTRESS PAD?!? Do you know how many spiders and ants you crushed into all that [insert flavor here] goodness when you laid it down? I'm not even getting into the edible stove fuel…

what keeps wild animals from eating this stuff. when ive camp/backpacked i had to always keep food in air tight bags and what not.

That's a good point too, how would you feel if you woke up in the morning and your stuff had been eaten? I know we have enough problems with raccoons and chicken grease (they eat the dutch ovens clean), but them eating your sleeping bag would be too much. Just imagine drunk raccoons wandering around in the morning after they got in the stove fuel…

What FAQ? I agree though, someone should buy the stuff and send samples to everybody, though I'd be surprised if the stuff actually kept in my tent, it gets up to around 110° in the day there…

I think it's a good idea. Unfortunately I'm one of those 'overly sweaty' hikers. and since I'm not using a proper tent, eating my sleeping bag isn't too appealing.

but if I'm hiking for the 10-20 days these items are recommended for, I can tell you I'd be greatful for them around day 8.

Question: Aren't animals attracted to equipment made of out food?

Answer: No. Animals aren't stupid. Animals don't consider Edible Gear food. You on the other hand, are clearly smart enough to understand that weight saving takes precedence over everything. As you're choking down your sleeping pad just think to yourself how easy it'll be to heft that pack tomorrow morning with two ounces less weight.

yeah i read that and they are full of crap. i bet animals snack on that stuff all the time. why would they care what shape or color it was. and that answer controdicts itself.
