What matters is the updates. Norton does tend to update a bit more often than MacAffee.
But then again I've been with Norton since the old Macintosh System 7 days, when the core system was SAM (Symantec AntiVirus) It would scan every floppy you put in when you put it in the computer before anything else happened to it.
At school I have all the newer computers set to boot up at midnight on Saturday, scan and defragment the hard drives, and clear the Temporary Internet Settings, and then they shut off. It makes things easier for me, anyways.
Wow, it's weird to see a person with a slower Mac than myself (600MHz, 256MB). At any rate, I would use Safari if you're on a Mac, it is just as secure (if not more) than Firefox and it looks better with the same functionality.

Try getting a RAM upgrade. My iBook is the same, but with 384MB, OS 10.4. Runs quite happily with the whole thing, not as good as a G5, but great for web

No, Safari has a menu command that totally pwns adblock, it is called "Block Popup Windows" (command-K) and it doesn't allow any pop-up windows to open. This means all ads will not show.
I wish for Tiger, but I'm not interested in buying the system, no, I need a new computer too (we have a video camera and a digital camera and all that other multimedia stuff) and need the power (everyone in my family has some sort of musical background, audio editing is good). We are looking into a 2.3GHz G5 dualie. They aren't that expensive for what they are (especially with a 20" LCD, it adds 5" and widescreen to my computer now!) and are great computers for upgrades (video card, hard drives, PCI-X) and seem to be made for case mods. Plus, I need a PCI slot for my computer speakers, an M-Audio Revolution 5.1 will do nicely and has the exact outputs I need, nothing more and I save $30.
As for a RAM upgrade, we've already put over $500 into this computer to keep it running, (luckily all of that is transferrable to another computer) and frankly, the money would be better spent on a new computer with 1.5GB of RAM. I hear it is now possible to get 8GB of RAM for a G5 for only about $1,000 now…

I have a problem with Symantic's Internet Security. Every time I put it on a computer. It cannot shutdown! It never will shut down! I always have to use the power button. Anyway to fix this?
