hello, im buildin a portable in a beta box. not the actual tape but a plastic box for a beta tape. i know that its really small but ill manage somehow. if needed i will downgrade to a vhs box. im using an intec controller screen and a neo-fami(us version). i know i should use a super joy but i dont have one.
do you guys have any good space saving techniques i could apply.
Yeh, desolder ALL connectors that go to external devices. This includes RF boxes, AV connectors, controller ports, power and reset switches, and anything else that falls into that criteria (except the cartridge slot). Do the same to the screen you are using. Wire everything together, there should be no internal connections between innards.
thanks i will, ive never used game genie for nes and i want to have one permanently in the cart slot. could i skip the code screen for games not supported. if not i'll just put a switch to jump over all that stuff but id prefer not to(cause im lazy)
I suppose you might be able to, but flipping a 60-pin DIP for most games is not preferred. I'd just open one up and make it smaller so it'd fit in your pocket.
would anybody happen to know the power requirements for the neo-fami. i dont have mine yet(its in the mail) and i need to get planing on powering it and the intec screen.
