i tried but the led on the dc-dc doesnt come on when i put the 9.5v through it, i cant find it anywhere, not even digi-key, can someone help me find it?
Well, why don't you just use a regulator to cut the voltage down to 3.3v, someone showed me how to wire a LM317T (standard, can be had from RadioShack for a buck or two) for 3.3v and it only requires a couple of resistors. If you're interested in saving power, well I am too. As you may know, I'm building a N64p and it would be helpful to know how to make a DC-DC convertor that will work for 7.2v to 3.3v.
no offence but then your need to do some homework. go to howstuffworks.com to learn just about everything you need. ive spent countless hours on that website reading and reading away. little electronics kits help a load too. im trying not to sound rude but you'll be glad you learned in the long run.
also you really dont wanna take the voltage up then back down. thats ineffecient.

Ok, wow. A resistor resists electrical current. It is like a bottleneck in a pipe, it only allows so much current to get through. They have two leads and it doesn't matter if you reverse which leads go to which holes.
And about the DC-DC convertor, what do I search under?
