Ok this is odd my cousin just called I was over at his house today and I played metroid prime on his GC then it won't turn on it turns on for like 1 seacond and then turns off? Help he's angry at me!

Did you put baloney in the disk drive again?! I told you to stop that. :P

It sounds like a bad power supply. Is it properly plugged in?

Sounds fried. Tell him not to be mad at you, a disk cannot kill a GC!

Ah, I know it well, it is a bad controller (or a memory card, though it is much less common). Tell him to disconnect all controllers and memory cards and turn it on again. If it goes on and works, try plugging one thing in at a time until it goes off again, the last thing that got plugged in is probably bad, toss it. This is a very common problem with 3rd party controllers, though someone had the same thing happen when his kitten chewed on the cord of his official Nintendo one…
