PM Question

Post by jeffslot »

Hi,

I'm trying to send a PM to someone, but the message keeps staying in my "Outbox". Is that supposed to happen? Has anyone encountered this before? How can I fix this?

Thanks.

You have to be on at the same time I believe for it to get to the person.
And if that fails try refreshing your sent box.

The Outbox is there so you can edit it later, and see when it's read.

I just replied to a previous PM. I don't really want to edit or anything like that. I just want it sent. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

vb_master,

please calm down, I'm not trying to get you angry. If you're upset, why would you bother to even reply to me. I though that if it was "sent", that it should show up in the "sent" box, it hasn't. It appears to be in the "outbox". I may not be sure exactly how this works, but that is what I'm trying to figure out. THanks.

Sent box contains messages that have been sent (in the outbox) and read.

When you send/reply to a PM, a copy gets kept in your "Out box". It stays there until the recipient reads it, so you can edit it before it's read. After it's read, the copy is moved from the Out box to the Sent list, so you know the person actually read the PM.

Thanks bicostp. That makes sense. That's all I wanted to know.
