To my knowlege it is equal to the old and orginal hardware. We have yet to have test to see how compatible the Flashback 2.0 is but as I dont think its a cheap thing like the Radica I dont think it should be an issue.

It seems to be 6 and 1/2 dozen to me.

FB2.0
-Cart slot has to be connected.
-Awkard shape.

VCS
-Mobo has to be cut...
-...then Soldered together and what not.

Heh.

6 is the same is one half of a dozen, one half of a dozen is equal to 6. And dont even start with those baker's dozens. He means its makes no difference, each needs its own share of work and know-how.

In the long run, I think the original VCS wins out in the end, you're probably going to spend more time playing your portable than making it, so a less-awkward shape would be better.

Well, you'd probably find the flashback for less.

I'm betting the Flashback uses less current. It also has composite video output.

I read that some of the first batch of FB 2.0s delivered to Wal-Mart have a design error in the sound circuit inside the chip. The synthesized voice in "Quadrun" doesn't work, and some other sounds are off. I also saw where somebody said that his FB 2.0 wouldn't work right with paddle controllers. Curt Vendel at AA said that the sound issue was fixed early in production, so if you get one from anywhere other than Wal-Mart it will have the correct sounds. But he didn't say anything about the paddle problem yet.
