NamcoHS :: Handheld System

Post by Crowley »

Since there is no "Namco Hacking" forum, the best place to post this is here.

This is my first true portable hack, which I am not FULLY complete with yet. I still have to mold it into it's case, but here is my progress...

To check out all of the progress pics, goto:

I'm actually just hacking a 5 in 1 mini-namco-system made by Jakks-Pacific, check out the link for more pics.

Thanks, and wish me good luck on my first portable hack,
-Crowley

Looks good, good luck! You should be able to build a 1/2" thick portable out of that!

You think I could make it that thin? I'm using a 1.25" case.

Pac-man, Galaxian, Rally-X, Dig-Dug, and Bosconian.
It's actually a pretty good buy.

Ya, I just wanted to do something quick, easy and fun. Next I'm probably gonna do a power player or an n64.

Yeah the funny thing is that was my first idea because I thought it was an atari in a joystick then I realized it and I moved on.

That looks great. Will you include the joystick? It would look like one of those old tabletop games if you did.
BTW what happened to that hip gear you got from ebay?

Thanks for the responses guys.

I'm still deciding on whether to use the big arcade style joy-stick or an anolog stick lying around the house. It would be hard to handle with the arcade style stick.

My hipgear got cracked either in shipping or the guy sent it cracked...

This reminds me...

Does anyone know how to put a ps2/gamecube/xbox style analog stick into this? I dont know if it's even possible...

Thanks,

its not possible. But you can get a D-pad and superglue the analog stick (clock it off of the original thing) to it.
