Ha. I posted that to engadget yesterday and it finally looks like they listened. Cool mod none the less. Once I get my hands on a fbv2, im putting it together with a psone screen and the 3000 mah batteries I have... Though about power draw... Does anyone know what it is?
@HK-47. Thinking about the system, I'd guess its power draw would be 500mA or less, if 500mA. After all the C64DVT joysticks can run on 4 AAs for something like 5+ hours. I'd expect simalar performance, power anyways.

Ben has said that he really wouldnt use the new Flashbacks. Reason being if it doesnt have the three chips its not a real Atari. However if he doesnt, someone else on the Forums could make a cheaper knock-off. Remember there are always two models of everything the Benz (Ben's no pun intened) and Chevy (person using the flashback). Neither is worse I'm just say that someone can now make a cheap VCSp.
I will also make clear again that this and the C64 DTV would be great to make into say a kit project for people to get into portablizing.

And bigger, the FBII motherboard is longer than the normal Atari board and won't be as easy to cram inside the case. Plus, Ben's gonna get tired of buying and wiring up new cartridge slots for every single Phoenix. My belief is he's going to stick with regular 4-switch Ataris and other people will make FBIIps.
I'd say wiring 24 pin cart slot on ever one would be easier then doing to the video mod to every 4x4 Atari. If I can see and be sure my 4x4 Atari is dead I'll see about grabbing up the Flashback II and make a VCSp.

Ah yes, but Ben can just put in the video mod and figure that it works (since there is actually video) and let you adjust it depending on your batteries.
