So i have a chance to get a GBA...
Not SP, but the older one in a package that includes an e-reader at circuit city for $43 on clearance. I just want to know what would you do in a situation like this; either get the regular GBA or wait until the day after thanksgiving and hope that the GBAsp has a sale? Also any pros/cons between the two systems would be greatly appreciated (besides the backlight cause i already know about that :p )
I have both versions of GBA. One reason I like the SP a bit more than the original is that the screen is protected when folded up. I tried to take good care of my original but the plastic still got scratched quite a bit. But, you can always buy a replacement screen cover on the internet. Also, the integrated rechargable battery in the SP last much longer than the rechargable AAs that power my original.
Another reason I bought the SP was that I couldn't resist the NES Classic edition. The sole purpose my SP to play NES games via the PocketNES emulator on a flash cart. It's my current solution to portable NES. I do intend to make a portable NES from a NOAC someday soon.

If you go SP, Get the "Handlebars" for it. If you get the other, RIP the cover off immediately, run screaming to the nearest game store that is NOT part of a chain, and Buy the glass plate diamond edged silver metallic word thingy screen cover for it. Its what I got, and it is FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE to scratch.

thanks for the replys. I'm still not sure if i'm gonna get it, beacuse the second reason of it's use would be a screen on my nesp that im going to make (once gannon gets his stuffix in the shop). The GBAsp would fit on perfectly on my case design, having just the gba screen visible. But who knows, I might still get it to make one of those Miracle Ray thingers or that GBA Home Console idea (if those designs aren't two of the same).
