PSP Eats Atari Portable For Snack!

Ok, now that I have your attention. :)

The question is, if you have to spend a year on a deserted island with only one of these two game machines and only one game to play over and over again for the full year, which will you choose. The PSP, of couse, that's a no brainer. With some of the PSP games you have so many options you'll almost never run out.

But if you have to choose one of these game machines with let's say 10 games for each and it's for life with no other games possible, which would you choose. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure but I think it would be the Atari just because of the fact that these games are so playable and repeatable you never get that tired of them.

Three days ago I bought a Playstation Portable and have been playing Ridge Racer on the PSP ever since except for a few games of Starmaster on my handheld Atari in between.

The first time I played Ridge Racer I thought the graphics were right up there with anything the Xbox and the PS2 could deliver. Then, after I raced for three laps, I looked at the instant 3 lap replay and my jaw almost dropped to the floor! I just have never seen graphics that good on a portable due in part to an awesome PSP lcd screen and of course to superb programming.

But I asked myself, after I've played Ridge Racer until I've worn out my interest, is it something that a few months or a year later I'll come back to. Will it have a lot of repeat play value? The answer is a definite maybe. I'm just not sure although I am sure that I'll enjoy it a lot during the time that I do play it.

I can say that the Atari 2600 games have always had repeat play value and are some games that I will always play again and again until I croak (unless of course I have my portable buried with me, which I may  ). Think about it - Pac Man, Star Raiders, Breakout, Centipede, Warlords, Galaxian, Frogger. Missile Command, Space Invaders . . . . . . .

So am I right in choosing the Atari? Or just crasy and a bit senile?

Thanks *o*. That's an actual .jpg image of my portable that the PSP is
displaying. It's not pasted in or anything.

Yea psp does kill any other portable thing out there. I have had a gameboy since the origanl and still play soem fothose classic games. The classic game sare fun but i think they aren't challenging enough but thats me. I can generally get a lot of the older classic games on my phone. I have tetris and frogger which i have gotten some of the most ridiculous scores for me. But the psp has graphics that the ds can't match not to mention sony good titles and the whole audio video thing. I know the ds will have some cool stuff when linux comes out but the psp's will be better. The only reason i would get a ds and probably will is becasue of soem of the games they are going out with in a few months. Like animal corssing and metroid prime bounty hunters

So for my psp game

Tony Hawk's Undergournd 2 Remix, just vecasue its hard to get all of the charcetrs and fun when your done adn theres a lto you can do with that game. I think tony hawk games 1-3 and undergrounds are sweet.

Also i never really played the atari to much I knwo my dad had one but i mean i have played the games but not directly from the console. I have played from the nes and gensis era though they rocked.

Yep... PSP rocks. I'd take the PSP and Tony Hawks Underground 2, never got tired of THUG 1.
