I started my programming with some simple QBasic programs, though my first real BASIC programming was with a timex computer I got at a thrift store. I should really dig that up

Today, I like HTML (if that counts, it's kind of debatable) and PHP (I'm learning it, though I still have a long ways to go)

I have used QuickBASIC quite a bit, I'm trying to learn C (:lol: I'm a C student

) and I know some HTML.

My first taste of programming was on the TI 99/4a home computer, running programs that look like this:

100 end

Ah the simplicity. (Except for drawing graphics; that got pretty weird.)

RPG IV. If only I still got to use her...

but basic's a fun one to cut your teeth on. I miss Atari Basic, but I never got on with VB. ...Something about being cheap and easy...

Mine's COBOL, we hung out for a year, but just never quite hit it off. I went for her younger sister, RPG, instead.

I don't know any programming language but I do know html. I want to learn PHP but every time I look at some PHP code my brain hurts

I was thinking of trying to learn a programming language like basic but my friend told me don't bother, just learn C, because all other programing languages are dirived from C.

I like VisualBASIC, mainly because I am good at it. I have a half-finished program that acts as a virtual Pinochle player set (either 1 or 2 players, as you can play actual Pinochle if you have more) and has 2 AI players. The AI is extremely difficult to program and you have to set some levels of it (ie, risky or safe, stupid or smart). The only reason I haven't finished it yet is because it is about 10 pages long and some of the variables are getting pretty cryptic. For example: meldco1. Anyone care to guess what that means?

Second favorite would be TI-83/84 calculator language because I have had so much experience tuning out a teacher to program it.

I know a bit of QBasic. I was never able to grasp the more advanced things like arrays and stuff, though.

So I haven't even bothered trying to learn C, because that would probably be even more complicated.
