Very often, a person will join, make stupid posts, get on probation (Nate, the admin/site owner or Ark, the über mod, usually explodes at them first, if Toozin, the admin explodes at them, they are instantly banned. The wrath of Toozin is easily invoked and very dangerous) and get banned at their next post because they don't understand what they did wrong.
A bit like one of my past forums, one rank was Warning [1], then Warning [2] , and then Warning [3], if you had 3 warnings, you were banned. The reason for a worning was stated in their sig, if they showed a different attiude and became nicer to the members within 14 days, they would lose their warning status.

Also, why has Zacko187 been banned?

Jaytee, I'm glad that you think we're all power hugry monsters, out for blood, but the truth is we're trying to help. Now there are issues we need to discuss. What issues? Let's start with this one. And spammers. And changes to the forum (mods, mods, and updates). Catch my drift? There are 13 of us. It's hard to keep us all on the same page. We're doing our best to make this place nice for you. Why would you try to stop that? The only reason you gave, is that your so paranoid, that you don't want us talking behind your back, about problems that may occur at the forum. Let me geuss, your afriad of government conspiracies? And those parent/teacher confrences at school...what are they up to? You see, not everything will be done in front of you. That doesn't make it wrong. Privacy is something to be valued.

I think a mods forum would help mods and users if the mods can comunicate without user wich comment everything it would be much faster for the mods to improve everything they need to.
(hope the beer post won't get me on that list :? )

I'm not trying to be a suck up, but Lucretius is right. He's trying to help the forums, but guys like me and FDSMAN, just make it worse. BTW, Jaytee just saying it non-offensively, you kinda remind me of hermione of Harry Potter protecting House Elves. Not a bad thing, but kinda weird and cool. Another BTW, my spam rate is LOWERING.

thank you so much for turning on the sarcasm switch every time i post, i really appreciate being taken seriously and all. i am sure I don't need a lecture about privacy or government conspiracies from you.
moving on from the part of your post where you make fun of me without actually adding anything to the discussion (which was kind of hard to find), there is no concievable reason. i've heard you say that you're here to help every other time i've brought this issue to your attention, but that doesn't change the fact that the new mods (you included) are throwing their weight around unneccesarily.
i truly fail to see why these things can't be discussed in a public forum, why the members of the board shouldn't be allowed any say in them and why the mods all of a sudden need their privacy. you're so busy calling me a lunatic that you fail to address the actual need for a mods only forum, except that maybe perhaps you can and that wow that would be pretty cool because i'm a mod now.

Actually, we are trying to keep power of mods at a minimum by having mini mods, that way no single person, other than gannon and Ben, can take over the whole place. If you think there are a lot of rules, it's just a way to avoid controversy, and it's an attempt to prevent arguments over everything done by the mods. Even then, a lot of things are just suggestions or things for the mods, others (10 portablizing commandments) are things restated.

@UA: Zacko never really did much, usually did what he could to get people on his forums, and then he tried to trick gannon into making him an admin, saying Ben approved of it. Later, after a ban, he came back making about 10 topics simply titled "spam" in F42, which affirmed our decision.

The mini-mod system, to me, works like the House of Representatives, rather than a diplomacy (where a couple of people had overall control). Having 13 mods does help establish a balance of power, rather than having one or two people having absolute control.

In my opinion, the mod-discussion section would be a good idea. It would give moderators a place to discuss current issues (such as proposed rules, how to deal with spammers, etc.) without involving the public. If these discussions were to take place in F42, for example, people might think that these rules are in effect when inreality they're "on the table", so to speak. Paranoia might kick in, and (quite bluntly) all manners of hell might break loose. Having a mods-only section really isn't about keeping secrets from the public; rather it's about protecting everyone. You don't need to know everything we discuss.

Right, I understand the point of the mini-mod system. You don't need to explain it to me every time I criticize the current system. I've made it quite clear that I support any measures to spread the power of any given system.

HOWEVER.
The way it is currently being implemented is just plain wrong. Just because more people have power does not mean that the power is actually spread out.
Besides the fact that each forum actually has the same number of mods that it used to, there is also the fact that the new mods are now asserting their power in ways that the old mods never did. For months and months we were fine with no new rules, no new stickies, no new announcements, no new forums. Now all of a sudden you guys have decided that we absolutely need this new forum for you guys to discuss new rules and policies and mod things that we probably wouldn't understand without any sort of popular input. All of a sudden it is decided that we need about half a million new rules beyond "Don't spam, keep it PG-13 and no religion or politics." These are not helping the forums in any way, they only serve to show how big and bad you guys are.

Now Jaytee has my vote. I hope you dont classify this as SPAM, because supporting someone isn't a bad thing, nor a crime. Luphole that! Reading whay Jaytee has said, his point does justify a fact of infairness. This is getting out of control. Can a moderator just DELETE this and get on with our portabalizing lives.

BTW, Zacko was creeping me EVERY day about joining his forum. His banishment seemed extreme but deserving.

I kind of agree with...both of you.

I think that with this many mods a mod only form would be a good idea...but I also think that the people should have a say in it a well.

How about this. Make a mod only form to discuss new rules, how to deal with spammers, etc. and before you make a final decision see what the people think about it. make a poll or somthing...
