NES LED controller mod How to-- EASY!-- pic. warning

Post by bioniclebert »

OK so heres how yous go about modding a LED into your NES controller. Its easy, and heres all you need:

Soldering iron
solder
a LED of your favorite color :)
needle nose pliers, or something to cut the case with.
a screwdriver.

First, take your NES controller, and flip it over.

Unscrew the screws, and look at the board, specificaly at this area:

the positive lead of thee LED goes in the right, and Negative in the left.
solder that in, and It should work.

Solder it in. Then lie the board back in place.
Take your needle nose pliers, or whatever, and cut a small hole around the LED, so the light sticks out of the top.
screw it back together now.
( NOTE, with some led mods I did, I was un- able to screw in the screw near the LED. If you cant, just leave it or use some superglue)

Then hook it up, turn the power on and..

put LEDs next to the buttons, and put them on the buttons lines, so when you push A for instance, the LED next to it lights up.

Or, resin cast new controls, only with translucent resin, drill out holes, and put in small LEDs.

It's easy on any controller(for any system), just hook an LED to the power and ground lines, and use a resistor if needed.

i dunno, I havent tested one yet.
the nes, SNES, and xbox have +5 volts, so Im willing to say that the PS2 has a high chance of having +5v
