Dear Forum I am Sorry

Post by HotDog-Cart »

Dear Forum,
I have not acted apropriately over the last few days. My posting has gone wildly out of controll, and I have had a flagrant disregard for the rules clearly stickied at the top of this forum. I promise I will shape up or ship out, and you have my word. Or at least Lucretius's, as he is keeping a stringent eye on me....
Sincerely,
HotDog-Cart

And thank you Lucretius as you've uhh "helped" me change my ways no pressure at all ;)

the only thing I hate more than people being annoying is people making annoying forgiveness threads. You're best bet is to let a mod delete this, and just...

Frylock: I told you, fourteen inches!
Master Shake: You tell me a lot of things, but that doesn't mean I have to listen.

Its been like a week since I've last quoted ATHF, I had to.

See, this post here exposes 2 things that piss everyone off: one is the 1337 all the time, and because you make 100% worthless posts like that.

Rule #1: look at part 1 of GTS:
1) Think hard about what you are about to post. Do it twice. Once before you start, and again after you have written it out. But before you click "Submit." This will both help you decide whether your contribution will be helpful or not and will allow you to proofread what you are trying to say. If you are in doubt, open a word processor and paste what you wrote. Then spell check it.
in other words, does what you say really contribute? If not, don't bother. Click on the back button, and carry on. Oh, and let it all out at once. For example, you made a few posts pretty close to each other in Ben's thread. Make it all one thing. Think of what you want to say, and post it all at once. That is, if you are still contributing. Then go on to Rule #2

Rule #2: look at Rule #1

Note: Spongey's post was a brilliant trick. It's called an "infinite loop program" One reads rule #1, then is asked to go to rule #2, the to rule #1, the to rule #2...and so on. The "goto #2" tag at the end of rule #1 really clenches the deal, followed by the simplicity of rule #2. Technically, HD-C can't stop performing it! Amazing, huh?

Another version is this:
Step #1: Take the number 1.
Step #2: Add 2.
Step #3: If the sum is even, stop. If not, go back to Step #2 and repeat as needed.

:)

I don't know if you all use Firefox, but I'll asume you do. There's an extension for Firefox called Spellbound. That should help our problem a little bit.

Well, he has been put on a temp ban. This, my friends, is a warning. HD-C was not the only offender on these boards, and in some cases, not the worst. Simply flew too close to the radar. A list of offenders is being drawn up.

If you see your name on it, it means that you are less than a stones throw away from being banned.

Permanently.
