Love.....

Post by Guitar Slinger 89 »

As I have said before Love powers our heart, Love is the most powerful emotion we have. But, this power Love caries can work for the good or can break your heart. Let me explain. Have you ever felt love or a strong emotion bond toward someone? When and if you get rejected, your love, the very thing that powers you heart, is replaced with a spliting pain, a deep feeling of agony. An deep agony that feels as if it will never subside. Love is very powerful, and with that power it can mend anything or cause great pain. Let's say a very close relative dies. Your love for that relative would be replaced with a geat sarrow. Now let's say you are reading the morning paper and you read that someone you have never heard of just died yesterday. Your initial reaction would be, "Too bad." and you would go on sipping your Orange Juice. The bond between you and your relative, Love, caused you to feel sarrow when you found out they were dead. Love is biiter-sweet because almost always it never lasts. But in the rare occasion it does last, treasure it, hold on to it until your very last gasp for breath. This how I feel how about all of you?
When all things in life are done, Love will be one of the most important endevours one could set out on...

Odd I thought the strongest emotion humans had was hate. Love's made some great things and is a wonderful feeling but it doesnt drive anything forward besides the search or yurning for something or someone that fills you with that. Hate on the other hand I see as much more powerful, much of our world today was shaped by the hatered of the leader in the past. Weapons and technology, as well sociaty as a whole all effected.

Yes, that brings me to my next point. Hatetred is equaly as powerful as love if not a tad less. Hate is the exact opisite of love. Different like light and darkness. Hatetred can be a good thing sometimes. Say if a boy is beat growing up by his father. His hatetred for his father and what he did to him can help make a choice never to treat his kids that way. Thus helping him be a better father. Life is a puzzle and most of every will make no sense the deeper you get into it. So keep love in everthing you do.

Really? Seems fun you say Love is stronger, because if that were the case we wouldnt have rediscovered so much so far. What do I mean? Well you have to remember that war is more common thing in our past and present then peace is.
Your example of hatered is also flawed. Most of the time the son having been abused by his father will inflict that same abuse on his children, it is a great few that are able to over come this and make the concious desion.

Yes that is true. Almost nothing ever good comes from hate... I was just stating that the rare occasion it has happpened. Hate has the power to drive people to murder other people and build bombs and come to school. Just like love has the power mend most of all things hate has a desructive power. Sometimes weird events will happen though causing People to be driven to the the greater good or drawn toward evil. These series of weird events are called life. Life is all about choices, which way will you go?

Well love and hate are strong emotions and they do contrabute to our lives, but in the sociaty we live it now they're almost meaningless. Love is protraded as affection to someone who is beautiful (problem is they're type is purily physical) and hatered is only to drive you to success over you opponates.

I have to say it our sociaty sucks. I we can regain what we had in morality and a sence of comradery that we had in the 50's and 60's we'd have a much more stable and fofilling sociaty to live in.

I think for a society to be stable and functional, love must exist through a chain of different sizes of groups of people. True love is about people anyways, right?

Let me explain what I feel. There is a chain of love that is like a hierarchy; each level has a prerequisite. You cannot truly move on to the next level of love without obtaining the one before it. Utopia is to have complete love at the top level and distopia is to completely lose love (or hate) at the bottom. And it's a very analog thing. It's not like Love is On and Hate is Off. There's a lot in between. I know it sounds very scientific but the more I think about it, the more it seems to make sense. So hear me out.

The levels:
1. Self - Yes, we've heard is many times. "Before you can honestly love someone else, you must first love yourself." This is very true. What could possibly matter to a person who hates themself and wishes his own destruction. One who hates himself cannot possibly harbor sincere love to any other level. Preceived love for anything else only serves as a crutch to prevent total collapse. Hate at this level is in fact the most dangerous because an individual near total collapse not only wishes to destroy himself but take with him whomever he can.

2. Family - Political campains of recent years have repeatedly stressed family values and the importance of the family unit. Family is incredibily important. Family signifies acceptance of your existence for you do not choose who your family is nor can you ever change it. As a child you learn to depend on these people who seem to have a strange desire to feed, bathe, and clothe you for no apparent personal gain. Love at the family level can be very easy and difficult at the same time. It's easy because members of our family usually look, talk, and think much like ourselves. Superficial reasons to cloud love are few. It's behavior that is most important. But even through bad behavior family love is hard to break and people can be very forgiving.

3. Spousal - Although this level appears smaller in the number of people involved than the previous level (family = many, spousal = one on one), a man and a woman have the potential to extend and create their own family. So it is indeed bigger. Many would agree that people who have had turmoil at home as a child, especially between their mother and father, are more likely to have problems in a committed adult relationship.

And there's more but I'm at work and I've completely lost my state of mind. You guys can see where I was going with it though.

And if you're a religious kind of person (I am rather undecided myself), then you could put God at the top and at position zero. That would give it a nice endless cirle thing going.

yeah, I agree. today too much importance is placed on things like money, sex, being "cool" or popular or good-looking. sure those things can be nice but there's a lot more to life. like Guitar Slinger 89 said love is a great thing and if you happen to find true love you should treasure it. and like Sparkfist said unfortunately love is now usually for a physical aspect. of course not everyone is like this but many, if not most, people in our society today live a lifestyle of possesions and material things and of trying to always be on top. if your ever hurt, rejected, or looked down upon I like to think of it as a victory because being humble, in my opinion, is a good aspect. don't feel mad or embarassed when you get made fun 'cause at least you know that your heart is pure while those making fun of you are filled with hate. I guess that's just a part of human nature, trying to always be the best or at the top of the "pecking order". btw, a cool book on that is The Lucifer Principle by Howard Bloom. it explains our nature and not just ours but that of all biology, it's actually pretty interesting to read.

kinda off topic at the end there but I felt like saying what was on my mind...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
