large GBA style PS2 portable

I couldnt tell if ben kept it but do i need the phone jack that attaches to the board or will it run without it? Also Anybody know what voltage the old ps2 fan runs off of or where i could power it at off the board or the lcd? so ill have 2 fans

the phone jack shouldn't affect if the PS2 works or not so you could probably remove it

Alright tomorrow I'll get a new pic of the innards and the pstwo and such. It's comming together nicely although there are things i want to add later on(te-hehe)
Completed:
Controller, Video, Audio, Headphones, Screen settings, Front of case and partially done with siding
Whats left:
Shape and make cutouts on back piece, mount mobo on it and drive, resolder the 2 drive cables, create a heat sink, a few wires to connect and need to figure out how to mount L1/2 R1/2

Sometime Ill have to test whats the best voltage to run PStwo at durring diferent areas of gameplay(tomorrow maybe

Also I want to add that this portable will be able to play DVD PS1/PS2 NES Genesis and SNES games all in one

Sorry just wanted to bump to say I finished the general layout and it runs nice off the 8.5V pstwo adapter and 5AA batteries for the screen. Although I have yet to really "finish" the design it still is kinda ineffecient in some ways(dvd drive cables)
I will take a pic tomorrow of it running FF VII hopefully ill hook up controlls tonight so i can play a bit tomorrow.
The weight is nice but I need to build a cover for the slicer style dvd

I believe I may move try cutting the entire area out under the dvd drive to help airflow and maybe give ribbon cable more room to move.
And the aluminum siding still needs cutouts for input holes.
Also L's and R's must be added although that is last priority..

The sound and picture quality are enjoyable

. And I must say it is pretty fun riding my chocobo in my hands

Big tip, try to keep the area behind the controlls a thin as possible. Makes for better gameing....

Sorry for the bump, but either that or make another useless topic... Anyhow I guess Ill post an update.

So far Almost all is done except cosmetics battery and apparently closed circuit buttons are normally in the button-down position... which is useless when i press the button its like i released the button.... Anyhow so L's and R's are still not done though tomorrow Ill prolly go buy 4 new buttons and replace the others, and ill upload a movie of it running GT4 tomorrow..

BTW: Anybody know a good server I could upload a .mov file to for free?
