Starting my SNESp, Pics--Watch Out!

My friend was over here, and he put them all back in, and I looked at the pins, and they look as good as my Model 1's pins on that board.... still think it wont work? Cus they look professional quality... Maybe I could try it, then if it didnt work, I could just cut the wires that i soldered onto the board, so that i could still use the wires... and put em onto the new cart. slot.

Thanks for the help guys, I probably will pick up production again, because my sister announced that she is moving her wedding from August 20 to sometime in October, which means we arent pushed for time

sorry about the double post, but editing doesnt let people know ive changed something... ANYWAY

I am going to the store today, to get a smaller solder, because the stuff I have been using is pretty big, I have removed the cart. slot, and im about to hook the monitor up.. (doing all of this today, because im bored) AFTER i get those things done, all I need is POWER, as I know nothing of electricity, the first thing I do to learn about it, is turn to you guys! SO here is what I need to know, do I need ANY extra peices from the store when I go, to regulate the electricity or anything? and once I get back, I will post pics of everything hooked up besides the battery, then its just putting stuff in my case, and im good to go

You guys said to get an RC Battery, NI-Mh 3000MAh 7.2V (Refer to first page)

I didn't know if you would use that or not. The PS1 screen can handle 7.2V, so you don't need any additional regulators.

BTW, do you ever stay on MSN longer than 1 minute when you ask a question?

rofl ya, about 20 min, then for some reason I feel I must leave msn, and get back to staring at my 69.2314% done portable lol, sorry about that, ill stay on longer next time

Well, I hooked the monitor to the SNES, and I started getting all my ribbon cable ready for putting on the SNES Cart. Slot... By sunday night I should have all my ribbon cable on the cart. slot, and on the board, so then all I would need is power.... thanks again for all the help! ALSO its a hipgear... not a PS1 monitor.... if you would be able to tell me if I need a power regulator for that... or whatnot... once again, thanks to everyone for helping, I hope to have the portable done by the 1st of August.

Sorry, I didn't have time to look at the pictures before posting. Do you know what range of voltages the hipgear can safely run on, and how much current it draws?

I have no Idea... I could prolly check the pinouts and that might have some of that info on it.... as for now, I am relocating my cart. slot.... and am 1/4 of the way thru it....

It doesnt matter. The screens are all the same the only difference is that you have a PS2/GameCube/Xbox controller.

that what I would have thought, but it is a ps2 one... I plan to have the thing done, besides the case, by sunday, I hope to have everything done, and with your guys help, I think its possible

Yeah i did that on my SNESp. Wiring the controller straight to the mobo is easy, 5 different colored wires which are really easy to figure out where they go(just open the plug and see where each wire is sitting)

thats not what im concerned about, i pretty much have everything in the bag besides power.... do I need a resistor for the hipgear screen? if I do, ill go buy one asap

Well if your planning on using the hip gear screen and you have questions about power. Search for it in the screens forum. Lady Ada (or Ana) did some research and was able to power it with only 5v.

I went to the store and bought paint and whatnot for my case, but upon further investigation, I might go and vac form my own case.... depends... maybe ill have a temp. case until I get around to vac forming.... me and my mom discussed it (she is into all the power tools and whatnot) and we were gunna possibly take a shot at this...

AS for my portable progress, after talking with nos_silved for the first time over msn.... (finally got ahold of him)... i got the info I needed, and hope to have most of it wired (if I mass solder tomorrow) by wednesday, then I just need to put it into the case, and charge my battery

Thanks again for all the help from everyone, and a special thanks to nos for the patience he has had with me

I will post pics as soon as I get it done, and once I put it into the case!
