I downloaded this

and it didn't work so I uninstalled it and I tried to play garry's mod, and garrys mod says the video mode is wrong and it sets it back to default, but it still doesn't seem to work, so I then got a message that it needed directX 7.0 or higher, so I downloaded directx 9.0c, it was finished and expecting it to work, it did the same exact thing, so if one of you knows how to fix it, please post

well That thing you downloaded may have uninstalled your Video Card Driver, or it may have alterd the Video card driver, so uninstall the Video Card Driver then Reinstall it
if that doesnt work contact the maker of that Thing you downoaded and if they dont help, report them (i forget how to try google) for Altering Your Computers Contents withoout your knowlege and they'll be shut doown for good
