What would you like in a Portable Nintendo 64?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

I think it should have the ability to fly at mach speeds and shoot laser beams!

...

Oh, ok. How about a little read-out that tells you how much battery life is left?

You definitely need the D-pad, how else will you play Kirby 64, because since I mentioned Kirby I've convinced you to go purchase/rent it imediately. The game doesn't use the analog stick, only d-pad for movement, which is why if/when(I'm gonna go with when) I build my N64p, a D-pad will be a must. Also I think Pokemon Stadium was D-pad only as well.
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

Only the GameBoy cartridge thingy was D-pad only, the rest used the analog stick.

Oh, and you should make it waterproof for 10 meters with the option of switching to a second cart via DIP switches when you get bored of one game. (And obviously, the ability to accept an expansion pak, rumble pak and memory card would be greatly appreciated.)

since the start button isn't used much, it doesn't really bother me that it's out of the way. It's in a kinda inconvenient place anyway, and it doesn't bug me. What do you mean by "remove what is useless?"

meh... i didnt read all the posts, so i might repeat other posts

1. Expansion Slot relocated and made smaller
2. Analog and Digital controls
3. A case that doesnt look like CRAP!!
4. Video out to TV
5. Extra Controller slots
6. female of the dog species battery life.
7. Removable battery packs
8. VGA instead of composite
9. a COMFORTABLE case

This is what I have been working on. I relocated the Expansion Pak just to realize it was dead before I installed it. Until I get new one, or get the parts to build a plain jumper pak (its just some resistors) I'm not going any further with this project.

yeah, the expansion pak is really a chunk of RDRAM. And to anyone that thinks the d-pad isnt used, try and play Kirby64 and Mistcheff Makers with analog and see how far you get.

also, i forgot to add im my last post

10. Rumble Pak and Memory Card slot combo.

some things that i used, and that are really nice are:

1) DC auxillary inputs
2) A/V inputs and outputs
3) Blue running lights (LED's)

another thing that i did, which isnt really in the unit itself, i have an external battery. while it isnt all that easy to walk around and play with it, once the 1-3 hours of batteries die, you can take your external battery pack and put a standard DC male head on it, and jack it into the DC port. in my case, i have 2. i am currently using 2 standard 6V lanterns in series, taped together and made to look half decent. I've also got a 12V recharcheable drill battery, also rigged with a male DC head. i only carry one of the two with me, the battery life you get out of these things is crazy. im still using the 2 lanterns and i bought those when i first started the thing. i've used them for testing, and now playing.

just a suggestion, but it sux to be out of batteries...

Hey sponge, I'm making another N64P.... Maybe we could race

I think these features would be cool:
P2, P3, and P4 inputs.
AV out (with colored LED's of course!)
D-pad and L button (for crappy wrestling games)
DC in jack

And that's about it.
