Ben did you sell your Vagabond controller?

Post by HK-47 »

I found this on eBay (actually on atariage but its on eBay) => http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... eName=WDVW

It looks just like your vegabond controller. (I had to go digging over at the old site to find a pic.)

Anyway I just thought this was interesting.

BTW heres the pic so you guys dont have to go digging.

Wow the person that's selling it needs a new camera.

As for it being Ben's probably, Atari never had controllers like the other systmes, not event he Jaguar(sp). Also the screws are something like a trait that only he does.

I'd have to say, the style fits Ben's vcsp's pretty well, and would be neat for a 2nd player.

yeah doesent the texture on the buttons look similar to the texture of the case on the original psp. I thought he made it. But then i clicked view sellers other items and saw another auction for the same controller that said atari prototype controller. And it had a bunch of other atari 2600 items so its probably not made by him but i think its him selling it. Also the backround of the picture is kind of similar you know the tools (like the screw driver). but it could be some one else

Not Ben at all. One the user name is "nfarj" hardly something thats cleaver or make any sence at all, second is the location says "Michigan" Ben's in Wisconsin. Not I think Ben mad either another one and sold it or sold the oraginal and as it says someone is selling it. As they think its a prototype they obviously dont know its build by a fan. I know its not one Atari made just look wood (not woodgrain stickers the real stuff), brass screws and the whole shape are just not something that company did.

I talked with a guy on AtariAge that is an expert on protos by atari and stuff for atari. He said that it is NOT a proto, as I expected.

Yeah, I made that almost four years ago. It was going to go with my Vagabond. I was cleaning up stuff a while back and sold it on eBay for like $20-$30...

Because it could also be a prototype...lol.

You know thats something else you could do Ben. If you have more little projects like that controller you can write a small book, just little accesories and the such. Or better yet an e-book.

man, if Ben could make a few controllers to sell, that would be awesome. If you're willing, PM me, Ben. Otherwise, I can imagine how busy you've been lately. If you'd be willing to when things settle down, I'd appreciate it. :)
