Yeah, the book is great. Complete walkthroughs on how to build portable Ataris, NESs, SNESs, and Psones. Once you understand how the designs in the book work, you can basically figure out how to portablize most systems.

Sorry if you took what we said the wrong way. We just get a lot of people asking to buy portables, when most of us work so hard on our projects, that we don't want to sell them. Making a portable isn't that hard, and everybody has to start somewhere. Some people don't know anything about electronics when they start, but like I said, we're here to help. And like Sparkfist said, we were talking about another guy that came on wanting to buy a PS2, and insulted Ben at the same time. With the help of Ben's book, PoD, and the information on these forums, you can successfully make a great portable. Just don't ask a question like "how do I run my N64/MP3 Player/XBOX all-in-one portable and it's laptop screen on a 9V with digital surround sound?" (we've honestly had questions similar to that). And like Sparkfist said, use the search before asking a question. And read all the stickies. Once again, sorry you took what we said the wrong way.

BTW, I like the fact that you type with proper spelling, grammer, and punctuation.

yeah Chronos I was like you, but if you just take a good long look at a lot of the threads here, and do a good through read through of Ben's book, you be going from slopper to proper(in terms of electronics modification).................word :D

Well Ben says he is considering a portable to make a lot of, and if I had any guess it would be an SNESp. So if you feel like waiting a bit to try and learn some stuff chances are he may start selling some, but only of course if it is a SNESp. Also if you really start building one you dont really have to do as much as the book says. Just mount the original controller, and don't do the LED mod. Its more just desoldering and adding wires then.

No worries, sometimes you need a good slap in the face, I think it will be fun to build my own seeing how passionate you guys are about it. I started gathering resources. I am waiting for Ben's book to come in the mail now and the ps1 screen to come. This should prove to be an interesting hobby...can't wait to get my XBOXp running. HAHAHA. Anyway, I should be around female of the dog species how I can get something to work in no time :D

Sure, an X-Box portable is perfectly possible! Just get a backpack-mounted gas-powered generator and you're good to go!

Somebody ban striderx, please. How many old threads does he get to dig up before action is taken?

I dont like locking threads, but if someone has to bring them up for the most ridiculous reasons then I will.
