Well I wish you luck, However one more idea about the L&R buttons is that because the portable will at least be a 3/4 of an inch thick(more if the cart slot is in the vaciity of your hands) it probaly will feel a bit akward with your fingers like that. I suggest taking a real big book and put a sheet of paper on it, plot where the buttons will be to see how it feels

are you positive using a heatgun to melt the solder wont damage anything on the mini snes mobo? i considered using my heatgun (i figured it might work) but i woried about damaging somthing, i tried it a little and the board got VERY hot you sure it wont hurt it?

You can use a heat gun on a mini board, just need to be VERY careful and watch how long you keep it on the board as well.

@EvilnessNMyVeins: I'll plan that out as well as all the other buttons and see where its most comfortable for me. Thanks for the ideas. Once everything arrives (sometime next week), I'll take things apart and get the exact sizes needed to make the best design for me.

Thanks for the link as well...some cool stuff on that site (doomportables). I'll post something once parts come in.

You say don't mess with it...do you mean to not touch it? In the book it's telling me to remove the old one and replace with a new one.

Or was that to be applied to the old snes console?

do wat the book says just make sure you put voltage in the input not the output

I see that quite a few of the members got their case "vaccumed"? I read up about it...but my question is what professions can I seek out around me that I can either call up or walk in and have my case created? Hope you understand what I'm asking.

trophy shops have CNC machines so if you bring them the stuff they need they can do it for you but it is a little expensive

vaccum forming is great because you can mass produce cases from molds and sell them like triton is doing

Battery question now: I'm looking at some batteries and one of them thats pointed out is a Sony Infolithium Type L Battery. I know that battery is a great one, and expensive too, but is there a way to connect some form of battery reader so I know when the battery is close to dying?

EDIT::: Also, what type of L battery should I get? Or are they all the same?

Someone already answered it for me. What I meant was don't play with the input/output (or you will be out a mini snes). I have also heard that in the book the input/output on the 7805 is backwards. Can anyone confirm this for us?

i don't have one to find out but you could trace it to the power input to see what pin is "in"

Disregard my battery question. I read the book more and found out a good Infolithium batter to use.

if you were using Ni-MH batteries you could have a built in charger thats what got me to use em

I remember my other question now!!!

Being that you can purchase the cartridge slot for the snes, I can just rip out the original one (carefully of course) and then clean it up nicely, and just solder the wires onto the new slot? (saving lots of time)
