thanks, now is there a better way then using a 12v to 3v conveter cause it does need 3.3v

use an iru120633 regulator and two 10 uf tantalum avx capacitors to get 3.3v
a diagram in this guide shows how to wire it

The PSU for the N64 used a 7805 voltage regulartor that was then output to a 3 ohm resistor. I dont know what the color banding would be as they dont have any. If you want to see a quick drawing of it goto Trition's site and look under the N64 section.

If you dont want to do that kind of work the only other option is to buy say a GBA/SP car adapter and use the converter in that as its a 12v => 3v DC-DC.

You could use any low voltage DC-DC convertor, and adjust it. Just make sure the convertor you use can handle the draw.

Use a low voltage regulator and adjust it to 3.3V. Either that, or use 3 Ni-MH AAs to power the 3V line.

It will if you get high capacity batteries. Or if you use a high capacity 3.6V battery pack.
