Alternatives to connecting a psone screen

Hi,
I searched on this one, but my question is pretty specific. The only way I have seen people connecting the psone to consoles is to hack up the original wiring. It also seems that it would be diffucult to solder to the pins of the cable port (they are surface mounted aren't they?). So my question for everyone is: How do i connect to the psone lcd without hacking up the original wires.

you can solder to the back of it or the pins up front which actually is pretty easy its wat im doing for my NES

i soldered to the pins (with the help of lemon juice of course), it's much easier than i expected it to be
