Zip Zaps: Zip N' Destory

I had a broken ZipZap, I took it apart, ripped off circuit board. and I figured out the pinout, and I attached a 9V, and a CD Spindle Motor, and viola, a wireless CD spinner! I might make it into something more exciting later.

they are a decent receiver but the transmitter only has a range of, at most, 6 feet. previously I thought all CD drives were brushless, and required brushless controllers. (3 wire motors)

zip zaps are crap then i bought an Xmod(look next to the zipzaps)they are better but i've put like $200 into it but it wasn't a waste b/c i still use it
the go 15mph +a 100ft range

I had an original ZipZaps car, but its battery is worn out and it got caught under a door before. They're great to take on vacation, due to size!

I bought a Starsky & Hutch ZipZaps SE on clearence, but it one wheel dragged so I dismantled the front end, and jsut made things worse. I'll buy another one once I get my paycheck at the end of the month.

I have an xmod and i can do anywhere from 11-15 mph and I put $25 into my car and that was the rechargeable batteries my friend is letting me borrow a stage 2 motor and I'm trying to do the spinbrush mod right now but I cant get that damn gear off and no store near me even has one in a catalog.

please don't bother pumping money into xmods when iwaver02's are so cheap. only about $60.

the only time xmods seem to work well is when they inherit mini-z or iwaver electronics anyway. of with those and the awd--they work really, really well.

They are Radio Shacks Cheap RC Car. They are like zip zaps but bigger.

ive made it before, with mindstorms, but it was mad slow, tank style turning is much better
