Aha, thought the at-home thing was also called injection molding.gannon wrote:Ben does not use injection molding for the case, he uses resin casting.

Just use a project box.HotDog-Cart wrote:whats Resin Casting? i think its the stuff i wanna use as a case? where i get it? how much it cost?
Resin-casting is when you take an already made case (a.k.a. you already have a case, so there you go!). And make an inner and outer mold (positive and negative) of it. These two sit in a stand that hold them in position. You then put 2-part resin in the cavity between the positive and negative molds (ben used a two-part rubber compount to make the molds), in (I think he said) 2 hours, the resin hardens, and you have a case.
WARNING (again) this is for making mass-quantities. If youre making one (ONE) <one>, dont use this, just use a project box. Like I said, Ben uses this because its cheaper to make 100 resin-cast cases than it is to make 100 CNC'ed cases.
Like I said, you can pay 7 dollars for a project box (and make the one case)Or pay 100 dollar or more (as you'll probably copulate up once or twice, so lets sat 200 dollars) in resin casting.[/i][/u]
