Ok, so about mobos and the pins. If you put a mobo just a mobo down in a case, with pins touching the plastic, is that good? How about alluminum

Plastic isnt conductive, it makes no difference. Aluminum is conductive, and will bridge the points, which is bad.

If the right pins touch your case if its a metal case then you will short out your board and probably totaly destroy it if not your extemly lucky and I think. Yeah anything that conducts electricity is bad and this is a dumb question just think about it.

When you connect to points of a mobo that shouldn't be connected with, let's say, AN ALUMINUM CASE, you will ruin the mobo, ya dumn copulate.

there are some types of plastic that can carry some charge like Acrylic for instance tends to build up static charges so it depends even with plastic

You can put down masking tape over the metal/plastic to decrease the chance of frying something.
