Unofficial PSone screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Unofficial PSone screen

Post by warbaby »

I'm pretty decent at wiring and what not, but when it comes to electronic components, I'm not so quick. Especially capaciters. I'm using some unkown PSone screen and I blew a capaciter that is based directly off of the power switch, it reads:
____
CAH
105C
____

I'm not exactly sure what it does, but it blew when i accidentally had 10V connected to the power input on the screen, but it blew while it was still powered off. The screen runs okay, it just gets really jumpy, and there is quite a bit of horizontal distortion, as well as some curving edges, you could probably play with it there, but it would give you a headache. I'm just wondering if i would be able to bypass this, or remove it completely. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

you should replace it if the distortion is too bad
