I have a Ni-Cd at 7.2v one that has a max. capasity of 2000mA well the Ni-MH is up at 3000mA. If you go buy them now you can get then for really cheap, think like 35% off making it ~$20 to $25 for the Ni-MH.

No, its just the price for the battery. You can get them cheap on ebay. If you think $25 is a rip off I guess you'll just have to find some other type of battery. BTW, get the NiMh ones, they're much better.

I just bought one at Radio Shack yesterday for $25. It's a 7.2v 2000mAh and came with charger. It's for radio controlled cars. It does seem kind of pricey but I didn't feel like looking all over for better deal.

Scherzo just remember if its the Ni-Cd run the battery all the way down before charging it. When the battery was too low to power the PSOne (you know game play) I'd just leave the system on until the power light went out, then you can recharge it or atleast thats why I do.

Well, the 7.2v RC battery is Ni-Cd but I also bought 6 Ni-Mh AAs. I plan use them with the charger as shown in the diagram posted by HK-47 in this thread:

I also got myself a Sony LCD tonight with the PSOne console for 80 bucks at Gamestop. They're used, of course, but they seem to be in fine working order. I'm going to begin wiring my SNES and the screen to batteries tonight.
