15w irons suck ass 30w kick ass
its true I just found out today all 15w irons are good for is cleaning pads 30w are for sodering as long as your not a compleate numbnutsass female of the dog species you dont burn through your boards and you dont have to strugle just to get the copulate soder to melt
Im done here
I use a 25w, it suits my needs. I plan to get a 45 and get a dimmer switch and make that concoction.

the onley problem I had with the 30 is the tip melted after a few hours of sodering so I changed it then a few more hours of sodering and the new tip melted
if you soder for hours on end a tip for a 15w iron dose not sute a 30w you have to get one for a 30w iron had to put my new project on hold till I can get to the shack for a new one

I got my 30W for about $14(CDN!) at Rona(or Revy, or whatever the hell they call it now) 2 years ago. I've used it for several hours straight, and never melted the tip. At school, I always used the irons on full power, which was 60W. Once I held the tip on the cord, and it blew up in 3 different fires. The teacher was pissed, but it was worth it!
