Darned jpeg's....

Post by G-force »

I can't get them small enough with paint without losing the quality of the pic, and for some reason I can't open a jpeg in GIMP without it crashing!

This really sucks, I have a how-to on my GP200 Atoids thing all done except for pics, and all I need is a way to get the pics down to size.

Any other programs besides GIMP that I could use? I would prefer not to resort to something illegal if I don't have to....

Did you try saving the images as bitmaps and opening the bitmaps in GIMP? (because Picasa does have some security flaws, like the Google Desktop Search.)

If you have MS Office installed, you might have MS Photo Editor. It resizes and crops images with very good quality.

If you have Windows XP you can download the Image Resizer Powertoy.

Or you could just email them to me and I'll resize them for you (most likely in Photo Editor or Photoshop). :)

I tried picasa and it doesn't have a resize option. Just a lot of "enhancement" junk :P It's pretty much the same as Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition (freeware)

The Image Resizer Powertoy works pretty good though. Thanks for the tip bicostp :)
