circuit solving help....

I'm taking a course on electronics/computer engineering and unfortunately, I've had some problem with the homework.....anyway, here's the problem I'm having the most trouble with:

I just need to know the current of the 2 ohm resistor (first diagram)....how do you get it?!?.....the rest of the questions for that problem are easy, but I still don't know how to get Va (if I knew the current for the 2 ohm resistor, it'd be easy

)...btw, this homework's due tomorrow, but I don't care...I just want to know how to do it

(but I would guess they are capacitors)

those are current/voltage sources

...man, I feel smart

....oh wait, then why am I asking for help

?....too bad gannon's not here

...or MM007, he knows quite a bit of electronics, I believe

Edit: btw, I should mention that the voltage at the - part of the 10V voltage source is -2V....I think the resistor's current is 1A (when the current is going this way: <--- (basically, left

)), then shouldn't the voltage across the resistor be 2V?...which means that the voltage at node A would be 0V

......man, I'm so confused

I was going to say 1A, because it would be the same as the current on the wire between the battery and 2Ω resistor.

no, 1A is the current flowing through that wire...by node A, I mean the point of the circuit where it says "Va" next to it

Okay, I looked at it, and it looked like they had used a circle to show the current. Now that you say that, the resistor has to have a current of 1A flowing through it, because that current can't come from anywhere else.
