Soldering Plastic and Alluminum

I cant make a control switch, so can a soldering iron, melt plastic to stick to alluminum to make a built in controller. Also, do you think it can melt through aluminum. I got a 15 watt-er. Maybe, maybe not
Just a hunch.

No and no. Not possible at all. Glue would work though.

what would you guys consider in cutting holes in the aluminum

Just use a drill with a sharp bit and push down HARD to keep it from running around and scratching your aluminum up. (Actually, take a hammer and a nail and make a dent where the center of the hole should be; that will help too.)

Plastic to metal = super glue. Works like nobody's business.

And there is a type of solder that works on aluminum, just so you know, but it's awfully hard to find.
