Well it looks like I took mindstiens advice after all. I started this thread to talk about everything about atari carts. How to program, compiling the carts into one file, you name it. To start the thread off I have a question.
If you want to make your own cart of a .bin file you have, do you just burn the .BIN to a eprom then pop it in one of those sockets you can get at atariage.com?
Everything that has to do with Atari carts

it is just that easy.
Buy a board and a matching eprom from them and just burn your bin to the chip. DONE.
Here is a link to another multi cart hack.
This one uses an old Activision 4k Cartridge to make multi cart.

I have not tried this one yet.
You just have to make sure that your EPROM programmer will do that chip.
You can get a williams eprom programer on ebay for about 50 to 75 but it will not do all of the chips. It will do the chip used in the 512 game cart.
You would have to check to see if it will do the older EPROMS from atari age.

I found this => http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 21827&rd=1
I can handle most EProms including the ones your using to built the multi cart. (Note: it can handle M27C801. The chips you are using are 27C801s. Im not sure if theres a difference.) It can also program some of the atari cart roms to. Just want to know if this'll work.

It should work.
I happen to have a newer version of the same programer. It is just a bit faster.
That looks like a great deal.
I don't think that you will find one cheeper, and I have plans to build several from scratch but when you add all of the parts needed it is cheeper to buy one of the williams programers. And you get software. If you were to build one you would have to compile programing code.
Mine works great, it is a slightly new version but I payed $50 for mine.
So I say go for it.
