Connections?

Hello,

I recently acquired a super nintendo. The main problem is that about 1/2 of my games just don't seem to work. I was wondering if its possible that the connections are dirty? If so, what is a good way to go about cleaning them? Or if anyone else has some ideas as to why the cartridges wouldn't be working, that would be great too. Thanks.

sometimes my genesis carts don't work unless you blow really hard on the connections on the cart and system

once my genesis couldn't read the carts at all so used a q-tip thingy to clean the connections and now it works like a charm

Q-tips do work really well just give em' a uick dip in rubbing alchohol

I clean all my cartridges with q-tips and rubbing alcohol.

($1 for the supplies instead of $9.99 for a cleaner.

)

I bought a copy of Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf for the Genesis a couple of years back, but the contacts were extremely messed up. q-tips and alcohol didn't solve it, so I used a new pencil eraser and carefully rubbed it from top to bottom in line with the contacts. Then the remains were cleaned with the alcohol.

One 2600 cart I have was so bad that I had to use insanely fine sandpaper on it, but it worked.

(I think it was Pitfall II)Man, you just can't kill those things.

Oh, and with enough elbow grease you can fix minor scratches on CDs with a Kleenex and some rubbing alcohol. (Just make sure iot's not the lotion kind. I accidentally cleaned my glasses with one of those once. Xp You wouldn't believe how long it took to get that residue of of there.

No, but one of the main guys did a test with a cartridge, destroying it in every way imagineable, but it still lived after most of the tests (except the last). I'll attempt to find a link.
