if I had to guess, it's actually a noac, so you could possibly connect an NES cartridge slot--best to start with a noac that already has one, though.
NES
Genesis (somewhat buggy)
C64
with atari 2600 and (maybe) msx on the way.
edit: oh, I forgot about TVboy, the 2600 clone from long ago. I dont' think anybody ever got a cartridge slot on it though. (why bother, almost every game I can name is included)

so far, the 'on a chip' systems that I've heard of are:The Intellivision games were ported to the systems by the company's programmers. Adapting to the systems required some games to be modified, but the programmers worked with the original source code to keep them as close as possible to the look and feel of the classic games

ok, so then hacking this thing into a portable would be of no use?, im reading the chip right now, and heres what it says/Looks like:
it says on the side of the chip with the two big black dots, there are small solder points that say in the following: 4016, rd40, outo, video, vdd, gnd.
ok, i think ive been able to decipher what a few of them are:
gnd is obviously Ground,n then video is just where we could connect a Y cable connector, reset would just be a switch or a button, sound would go out to either the yellow, or the white y cable. and the rest i cant decipher, u guys help out, and maybee we could have this thing running before christmas

You can make it a portable. Though be aware as you know your limited to the 10 games embbeded in the system. I'd say if you wanted to go for it but dont spend a lot of money or time on it as its not really worth the value of say a full console that supports multiple games.

If you want to make some 70s/early-80s plug-n-play portable, do the C64 DTV. Seeing as its the only clone among the many impostors, you can add a disk drive to play more games if you feel like it.

Or learn to code in BASIC on the go like every aspiring geek does.
Though you forget the NOACs are a working clone, just a little harder to find now.

As an owner of two Commodore 64s and an Apple IIc, I have a decent working knowledge of basic already. That's half the battle, I guess.Sparkfist wrote:Or learn to code in BASIC on the go like every aspiring geek does.

Warranty-Voiding fun!

I meant old-old clones. Pre-crash.Sparkfist wrote:Though you forget the NOACs are a working clone, just a little harder to find now.

but what about Heavily hacking it, to support a Cart.Port? its just a tiny chip with the games in it, it has several open solder points, but i doubt anyof them could be linked to a cart port, but maybee there is a way to maybee give it somesort of add-on to give it memory and a Usb port so you could add more games to it.......... maybee its not possible, but whats ur say?
No kinda pointless as the games are ported to the NOAC core. As a result you would have to write code for the core and be sure the software you want to run is compatible. Its really better for you to just give up, its too much work involved for something with little in return.
