World Of Warcraft

World Of Warcraft, I'm thinking of getting it, but the subscription fees seem too big per month. Anyone suggest it?

How much is it? Almost every MMORPG is around $10.00. I was thinking of getting WoW but I gonna get PSU instead.

A lot of MMO subscription fees are now peaking at 15.00 per month, but you can get better deals by going with 3 or 6 month payment plans. Careful though; a lot of these MMOs will just leave you with the desire for a Real plot- one in which you can actually make a difference.

Anyone here ever play Planetside?

I have Guild Wars, its not a game for everyone, infact its more of a PP game where you build your char through PvE. I like it a lot, and it also has no monthly pay.

WoW im not sure about, only person ive talked to who plays it is my Film and Video Production teacher (coolest teacher you will ever meet, plays MMORPGs and D&D with a bunch of us) plays it and he has a blast.

Well

Post by Iron »

ok i just wrote this thing about 1 chapter long and acidently exited the screen so sorry for being in a rush to rewrite it...

WOW is fun, but as said before gets boring when you relize there is no point, depending on who you are that is, some people like to sit there and kill continusily ... others want a storyline in which they can interact..

Gameplay- Fun for the first lvls(lower lvls) as you enjoy killing monsters and doing quest, geting used to the game, and finding which classes you like best,as you getinto the mid lvls it becomes more work than play, as you strive to get to the higher lvls (57+),once at the higher lvls you are probly gonna be imurged in pure pvp , as you strive to gain ranks over people that play 24/7 (aint gonna happen...)

The reason i stoped playing wow was because of the price, i used game cards , a whoping 15 a month...a little much when i could be using that money to make some portables or buy some console games...

I havent tryed guild wars , ive heard its fun from some, while others hate it, its like any other game, just depends on your personality... the upside to it is that you dont have to pay monthly like many other mmorpgs...

Ill name off some of the other mmorpg's that i have played

Lineage2- This is a very addicting game, and much like WOW in the movment and apperince , but more time consuming than WOW , and a lot more players , one of the greatest things about this game is the castle seidges, theres no other rush like it...

Runescape- Graphics arent the best, but gameplay is quite fun , expecialy when you dont have alota freinds to help you go questing or kill mobs, theres no party system in this game as of yet, but the massive amount of skills and areas to explore more than make up for it...

maplestory- a 2d side scrolling mmorpg, thats right 2d side scrolling, this game is quite fun , not onvly for its extrodinary new idea, but because of its many classes and fun places to explore, its 2d graphis much resemble those of ragnarok

ragnarok- i havent played this one much, but from what i did play it was a lot of fun, as i said i didnt play much so not much coments on this game...

gunbound- A fun game not really a mmorpg , but a good time consumer on those rainy days... i my self found it fun , but many of my freinds are addicted , this game is much like worms in gameplay...

tibia- the graphics are so bad in this game it will probly burn your eyes out to play this, but once your into the game its hard to get out, its game play is so fun , expecialy on PvP servers, some one makes you mad, you just kill them, the player owned houses are also quite fun, but require you to be a premium player to own houses(although if u have a freind who is prem you can get him to let you into his/her house) i think the fee for prem is like 6 a month , but like runescape, you dont have to be prem to play...

this is just a small list of some of the many games out there... always rember, if you really wanna try out one of those fancy p2p (pay to play ) games, but dont got the money, there are many "hacked" servers out there (hope im aloud to say that) i know there is some for ragnarok, WOW and lineage 2 , alowing you to "try" the game before you buy it...

Once again, sorry for the bad spelling, grammer and so on and so forth , but i already wrote all of this (about twice as long) and as i was about to submit , i went to change a little grammer error, and poof i pressed the wrong button... I figured it was worth the rewrite , so that you wouldent waste your money on WOW , I mean uh you might like it....

I played FFXI since it was released in NA, had a 75 NIN and a 64 WAR, you could say I was highly adicted, its one freakin long game and when you actuly play the story it is very indepth, (I spent about 72+ hours of gameplay on just the story alone).

FFXI I can say has one of the best lower levels and higher levels also.

For the begining its fun to kill mobs and do quests, at lvl 30 you get to quest for the advanced jobs, at 50 you get to do the Artifact armor quests and at 70-75 you get to do a huge ammount of end game stuff like Dynamis and killing God monsters like Kirin (who takes 25-30 lvl 75s all working together to kill)

I plan on getting into FFXI again because 5 of my friends just got it and were gonna level together as we go.

Yeah i never could stand runescape 1 but if you like ok graphics and fun addictive gameplay then runescape 2 is really good although everyone reffers to it as just runescape its realy called Runescape 2 so if you get on the runescape website and think what the heck wheres runescape 2 its just marked as runescape as the old one is marked runescape classic

Hi iron guy camp rocks Hehehehehe its DooM-GameR from camp

Any one ever played Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided?

Once again it's price per month vs. the fun to be had out of it.

How is it? (and most importantly what are the controls like? Iv'e kinda learned through reading about them that MMORPGs realy have there own class of controls unlike single player games but what is the clossest equivelent)

Never been a big fan o' medievel games in general (not withstanding RTS stuff) some how there is just somthing to ironic about using a high tech computer to simmulate a low tech environment. this sorrta carries over into the game play with magicaly super charged weapons and spells just taking the place of blasters and machine guns. So I will probably never play WoW (or maybe it's just that i'm an incurable tech junky).

sorry if this is a little off topic

What is really frightening is when you spend more than a thousand dollars on a beautiful computer- Athlon64 3500+, liquid cooled, SLI capable, the whole SATA RAID thing going on, lights all over the place, etc etc- just to play games like EQ2 perfectly- all effects maxed out- and after a month or so you find myself-I mean yourself- thinking "what was the point"?

Is anyone here suddenly just....uninterested in just about anything involved in gaming? Or should I just start taking those anti-insanity-and-uncontrollable-anger pills again? :?

Ugg...I need to build myself a new computer...again. It is one of the only things actually fun to do nowadays.

So no one has played Planetside? In that case, everyone who likes FPS should go and try it out...right now. That is an order. UT2004, Tribes, and all those FPS's cannot match up to the MMOFPS: Planetside. Sure, you end up firing plasma (poison) grenade into someone's back instead of outside, everyone in the corridor on your side dies, and then when they respawn they come and start team-killing you endlessly and cursing, but I suppose such is all part of the experience... Did I mention you should all go and get it right now?

EDIT: (vietnamesque flashbacks of two hundred enemy troops zerging out from the tree lines while a measly 4 tanks and 10s of good men desperately try to hold off the oncoming horde. Sniper bullets constantly whisking buy or hitting dead on- taking 90% of your health- cannon shells and mortar smashing into the concrete base walls. The automated and manual base defenses mowing down enemy troops, just to have even more poor through. The sound of death- an orbital strike- annhilating the 'spawner truck' of my side, killing ten people immediately. They poor into the bases subteranian "back door" and dehabilitate the generator. The sheilds drop, and hundreds of troops boil through the compound gates..............)
