WiFi on the Revolution

I was reading up on the Revolution and other systems and looking at the specs. Now I know none of the stats are truly final but when I was ready the page on IGN I saw this...

No Ethernet jack; Revolution connects to the Internet using 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi wireless

I'm thinking to myself, why the hell are they makeing it a Wi-Fi only, It's not like theres not enugh room in the box to add a port, and heck the Wi-Fi device probably takes up even more room than a line.

I don't have a wireless router, mostly because they can be taped into so easily its not even funny. I mean its not like a laptop, you can't just go anywhere with it, the thing still needs a outlet and a TV just like every other home system.

Anyways that ends my rant about the Wi-Fi craze the developers are pushing, I can understand in portables but on home systems controlers and internet, not so easily. Seems like someone signed a deal with the router makers when they started makeing the PSPs and DSs.

I think most of us will be within range of a wi-fi network when revolution arrives. With the trend in retail, coffee shops, appartments and even metropolitan wi-fi.

Where I sit now I'm within range of two (three on a good day), and I'm thinking of starting my own (to connect xbox to pc shares and internet).

Of course those outside cities will have to make their own or go without--as with everything. But with prices headed where they are, it won't be a problem for long.

No one around me has Wi-Fi.

And no one is computer savvy. I should know, I've been here for 11 years.

Anyway, this is handy. I hate having to move my PS2 into my Computer room to play online.

Remember, they said that it will be even smaller than the model at E3. So they don't have that much room.

By the time the Revolution comes out (Im gessing around 8 months from now or so) the prices will have droped. Theres one for $79 (on sale for $19

) CAD that might work. It's just extra money I have to shovel out.

I have 4 networks, all strong, and all calb,e and all unencrypted

that run throught my house that my neighbors are too stupid to secure, plus I have my own, secured of course

that and there is the plan to put several stratolites above the us, each covering an area the size of texas with wireless broadband.

i think nintendo is going to change it at the end and add some ports. They said they'd never jump on online gaming and now their offering a console with online right out of the box so their prone to revise at will.

busnesses includeing panisonic have invested huge bucks in the new wi fi teck and they are going to cram it down are throught wether be want it or not that is how it works
