So heres the sich, I am working on a Sega Genesis Revision, using a Sega 1 mobo. The mobo requires 9V and the LCD requires 12V. What battery should I use to power the thing maximum 1 hr, and minimum 30 MIn. I just wanna know that. No altering the mobo and such. I got a deadline for this, sry .
according to POD, it can take anywhere from 7.3-36 so just get a 12v battery. what screen are you using? it might be able to be modded to take 7.2v so you could get a 7.2v battery which are smaller and lighter than 12v

Oh, yeah, and about the 10 rechargable batteries, can i just use 10 normal Alkaline batteries as a substitue. I know that its possible but would it work, good enough.
rechargables are 1.2v so that's 12v. normal AAs are 1.5v so you only need 8 of them but you should go with rechargable so you don't have to buy a bunch of new batteries every time they run out
Genesis 1 has a 7805 (that's what the vertical heatsink and TO-220 are) and runs off 5v. the power button is connected to the 9v in line but aside from that it should all be straight from the 5v output of the 7805.
before i start soldering, let me spicify the question. So 8 AA alkaline batteries can power a genesis that requires 9 V and a LCD that requires 12V. for 30-60 minutes. you know just wondering

You do know you'll need to spend 6 dollars everytime you want to play your Genesis?
