I was testing my snes with my screen
i stripped the ac adapter and hooked up wire and then soldered those to the ac pins
i did the same with my screen and when i plugged in the snes adapter that white box ont he borad labled 1500 lit up for a sec and then went back to white
and no video came on
help me

did it look like the screen was still on and only displaying white, or did it look like the actual lcd just turned off? try testing your snes on a tv first, and then if it works, try it on the screen

Um, where you say 7.2 V is the output of the 7805 (or whatever regulator you are using). It looks like you are running red wire to power your PSONE, but you are essentially trying to run it off of 5 volts, not 7.2 (or 7.5).

If you are using the PSONE ac adapter, connect the PSONE power to the leftmost pin on the regulator, not the rightmost.

I don't know who kept telling people that the right pin was input, but they messed a lot of people up. I've gone through every 7805 datasheet I could find, and it ALWAYS says that left is input.

My PSOne screen goes white when the positive and negative are directly shorted (even if it's my finger bridging the gap).

in the book it says when you remove the power switch to conect the 2 pins
well i connected them on the bottom is this alright?

Still, I am a little confused as to how you have things wired.

You have the AC/DC adapter wired to the AC pins on the SNES. What is the DC output of the adapter? (If it is the PSONE then it is 7.5).

Now, how are you running power to the PSONE. Do you have wires running from the AC adapter into the PSONE screen, or is it from the SNES to the screen? And if it is from the SNES, then where are you taking that power from?

Nonetheless, given what legoboy said, it seems you may have a short somewhere on the PSONE screen. Hook an ammeter up and see if it seems to be drawing excessive current.

I hooked up to the regulator incorrectly. Did that fry my whole board or just my regulator? If it was just my regulator I can just replace it with this http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?c ... d=276-1770 right? What if I removed the 7805 from the board completely? Would it run? Im just trying to save my SNES it was very close to finish (all i needed was to build a case).
