That's usually an inhibitor.

The clamshell case? Yeah, it can be used, but itll be the size of a small laptop.

It might work with a SNES-mini and a screen with a small board, but don't forget that you need room for the cart slot and carts.

Now that I've taken apart my snes (and managed to fry it, lol) I redesigned the case with more realistic arrangement and dimensions. The cartridge will slide in the back, but it will probably end up being quite thick!!! Probably between 2" and 3" (I still have to take my screen apart to see how much room that will take). The other dimensions are about 8.4"x4.25".

I'm thinking white or very light gray for the front and a dark gray for the back. Controllers, screen video in, and headphones will plug in from the bottom, snes video out and power jack from the top. I'm putting all the plugs on the sides so that the console can be set down flat to play as a regular snes on a TV.

Likely more pics to come as the projects goes on...

By the way, the original heat-sink is great to tightly pack all the wires coming out of the motherboard. A few extra holes and screws will do the trick!

Here is what your SNES "portable" looks like if you make it clamshell style.

Nice looking concept/portable (I don't know), that Bandai HET is gay.
