I almost believed it for a good 2 minutes there. But there are pleanty of other people willing to believe this garbage, and even more willing to spread it around.

yes, libel is illegal. I wonder if dell will attempt to prove damage.

honestly, if dell wanted to put a key logger on your machine, it'd be in the motherboard, where nobody would ever find it. and they certainly wouldn't tell their help desk about it.

i had a dell PC, and i had the case for the most part, wide open... there was nothing there. but id have to agree, if they wanted to keylog yu, they'd hide that bugger on the mobo where it would be impossible to detect...

my PC is now about 35% dell... unrelated, but whatever...

i have a hard time believing the story, but suspicious none the less, isolated incident? fruit job? only god knows.

sorry, I thought I blew this one wide enough open with my 30 seconds of research.

it's a joke.
and very bad one, even using 'lol' for a file name on its own joke server ('it's your c0x') that rips off pictures and technobabble from a somewhat legitimate paranoia site. The hoax didn't even bother to rename the picture filenames.

there has never been a dell key logger (factory installed) on any laptop.
