Strange Led behaviour

l acquired a 5mm blue ledtoday i was planning on replacing the n64s crappy red with it......so when i tried to run it in paralell it acted in a very strange way.....i put it over the leads of the original led......and nothing happened but when i put only the positive lead over either of the leds lead it dimly lit up......this is odd and i am very confused can anyone tell me if this is a bad led or what?

dont really know whats happening, but it doesnt sound very good... i removed the red LED alltogether, didn't see a point to it as i had a billion other LED's on ever other component. yu coulda tried wrapping the whole where the LED would shine through, with a blue celefane...

that was completely unrelated, but seems like yu got the mobo angry.

i got a new one!!

i went and "acquired a new one" it works really well but the power from the original isnt enough so i have replaced that with a relay and i take the power from the 3v line
