dail up?

my dad's firewall is crazy

it randomly blocks a ton of good websites that don't have anything bad on them and one of the sites it blocks is proxify.com so i can't use that so then an idea popped into my head: dial up!

. i have some extra computers i'm not using now and a dial up modem i can use. the only problem is i don't know if dial up costs money. does it? i don't have a credit card or job or anything so i can't use it if it isn't free

there are some free connections out there, but they have ads. Is this a software firewall? You can change the settings fairly easily.

the firewall's a whole linux computer and i doubt i can easily change the settings without being spyed on

. maybe i could use one of those free AOL CDs

if you don't know, then you don't have it. and AOL cd's require a credit card--or fraud.

you could always 'move a few cables' around to run your computer right into the connection rather than going through the other computer.

or, you could just talk to your parents. I'm sure they don't mind hearing from you every now and again... seems to be the easiest solution.

...unless you're trying to look at porn--in which case the parents are probably out and it might be easier to use altavista's babelfish to translate english sites "from simple chinese to english"--or something along those lines. there was also a neat trick with yahoo...even lets you set refer urls...but for the life of me I can't remember it.

wait, is it a crime to give minors this advice?
