Pocket Blowgun!

Yep, I made one out of some Bic pens a while ago and bicostp asked to see it, so here it is!
Sadly it can't seriously hurt people even though it can penestrate skin easily But it would be dangerous if it had poison tipped darts *cough* recipes?*cough*
Alright enough foolishness, lets get to the pics shall we?

Here are all three pieces of the blowgun laid out (ignore the N64 it means nothing! )

Note that it has a safety piece on the part you blow so you don't inhale the dart! Cool and safe!

Then here it is stuck together.

the pens connects with pieces of tubing I cut off a marker.

Here are the darts. made out of several LARGE needles superglued to a special moving part from one of those clicky-type pens.


Of course if I don't want to draw blood, I can shoot these beads at my bro instead!

The case is a modified chap-stick case The beads fit perfect in the bic pens, I got lucky when I found them.

Now for a demonstation. First I put the dart in the gun, then I blow it on the wall. (just in case you've never seen how a blowgun works )

Here is the result:


The range for the gun is about 10 feet to shoot accurately. But it can shoot 20 feet pretty easily (depending on how big your lungs are )

And of course i don't weant to carry around a bunch of needles in my pocket so I made a quiver out of a Ramen noodle cardboard box. It was chicken ramen if I remember right....

here's an even better design: take a mechanical pencil, preferably an old bic that you push from the top (not the kind where you press the button by your thumb) to feed the lead through. Make sure it has the clip on it. Oh yeah, fatter is better, if possible. Next, snap off the tip section (about an inch long) so you have the outer body, and a tube inside where the lead is. Make sure the inner tube goes in and out freely. While you bring the tube in and out, get that idea out of your head, you sicko! ok, now that that's done, take out the eraser. Using scissors or an x-acto knife, cut 2 slits where in the eraser holder. Then, strap a rubber band in the slits and into the handle. You will probably need to double up a bit, if you have a big rubber band. Start shooting it at people. If you kill your brother, you know it works

sweet! thanks for the instructions. All I have to do is scrounge up 3 broken pens, and I have a drawre full of them...

Those beads kinda look like either BBs or ball bearings. (But I might just shoot the mechanical pen piece without any needle attatched, for safter reasons.

This is a shining example of MagGuyver inginuity*.

I just watched that MacGyver Episode where he goes to his Grandpa's. I think it's called "Target MacGyver." He makes poison darts and a blow gun out of a reed and some plant in that one. Man, MacGyver has some mad skills
