ok. i am wut u could & probably would call a noob. im in need of assistance in combining a nes, snes, n64, & gcn. dont tell me about it not being a good idea to risk the life of classic systems. i dont care. i just really want to build the "nintendo omega", as im gonna call it. please, PLEEEEEAAASE help me w/ this. and i dont want to use a tristar (super

o sry. didnt no. NEway, like i said in the other sections except for the gcn section, i need help w/ everything. i have an idea of the system, but the problem w/ it is that the only way i can think of to build it, is to have them in the same case, but not have them be actually connected. if i did it like that, i wouldnt need any help, but that would be kinda boring coz they it wouldnt be a new system. plus, once i get the thing finished, i might think about building the handheld version.

the only way to get it to work would be to either use each system's mobo and mod the GC controller to work with all the systems or to remake all the systems onto one board....obviously, it'd be damn near impossible for the latter, but the former is quite possible (just don't think you're gonna be portablizing it...) anyway, what I'd do is first get all systems and place them in the best position you think will work....I'd probably make it kind of step wise for the cart. based systems, and then have the gamecube above the lowermost "step"...once that's done, just wire up AV to a single nintendo output port and you're set as far as the systems go....for the controller, what I'd do is wire up buttons from the D-pad (left, right, etc.) and then connect those to the d-pad on an internal NES controller (and snes)...for the N64, you'd have to get a boomerang N64 controller and then wire the gamecube analog stick to it. for the buttons, use a and b for the....a and b buttons on all the systems
......x and y would be the x and y buttons for the SNES, obviously, as would L and R. for the c buttons on the N64, I'd make the X,Y, and Z buttons the left, right, and up c buttons (respectively) and then for the down c button, I'd add in a button using a tact switch in the gamecube controller. all these buttons would be wired to the controllers inside your system.

OK. So first off, I hope you don't think this will be a portable, because somebody else wanted to do that, and unless you carry it in a backpack, it's not going to happen. Now, if you want to make a combo home console, that is more possible, but it will still be huge. First thing you have to do is rip everything open. I would suggest using a NOAC rather than an NES, because it will save some space. Now, you will have to combine power and video plugs, so you only have one of each. To do this, I would suggest using a GCN power plug, because it has the 3 voltages needed (3.3V, 5V, and 12V). With this plug, you can remove the 7805 from the NES, SNES, and N64 because you have 5V from the GCN plug. For video, use the multi-out plug from the N64, and attach the following to it:
NES
Outside ring of composite out to pin 10
Outside ring of audio out to pin 1
Inside hole of composite and audio out to pin 2
SNES, N64, and GCN
Pin 2 to pin 2
Pin 1 to pin 1
Pin 10 to pin 10

Then put a 5 position switch on the power buttons so only one system will be on at a time. Move cart slots and mobos around, and put in a box. For the controllers, make a big controller with the other controllers in it, and just share the buttons and D-pads.

nos, the gc ac adapter only outputs 12v....it's the dc-dc converter that it goes to that ouputs 3.4, 5v, and 12v
(plus 1.9, but you can't use it for any other systems)
so for power, you'd do what nos said, but attach the 5v from the dc-dc converter....I'm not sure if you can use the 3.4v on the N64, though...not that it's too muchg voltage, but that I don't think the gc dc-dc converter can handle the draw (which is something like 1.7amps, I believe..) I think gannon tried it once and it didn't work

The easiest, most portable solution I can see to your problem is a laptop with a bunch of emulators on it with TV outputs. (Except for the GameCube; its emulators are not practical and need top-of-the-line equipment. Just carry a GC with you, I guess.)

Emulation sucks. Just get a really big hiking backpack, with like 6 different compartments. Put each mother board in a different compartment. Then get one of those massive XBox controllers to hold all of the controller chips of each system.
