I was wondering if it is possible to use a circuit such as this to connect a VGA device (like a computer) to a PSone screen using RGB so it would be clear enough. The connections seem to match up to the diagrams in this topic.
What settings would you change in BSD Unix (the system the computer will be running)? Also, how does the computer determine available resolutions? I would like it to be able to handle at least 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768 because those are the 3 I am used to and they seem to have enough room onscreen for stuff.
Oh well, I may have to change some sizes. Is there any way to bypass the volume controls on the PSone screen and just have it run at full volume all the time? I would like to use an external audio source that already has a volume control.
So should I put in a whole other audio amplifier (I'd use an audio amplifier IC because it can drive powerful speakers and is a tiny solution because the circuit needed to make it work is about 1"x1" and about 1/2" thick) and use the PSOne screen speakers? That seems like a lot of work to have working speakers. Is there a place to hook directly into the audio amp on the PSOne screen?
Soundwave, you thought what I originally thought. I think he wants to use the speakers on the screen, but with a different source of audio, instead of the computer.
